Pyxus International Inc. (formerly Alliance One International) is one of the world's largest independent leaf tobacco dealers and processors, headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina, with origins tracing to Standard Commercial Corporation founded in 1904. The company buys, processes, packs, and ships tobacco leaf from growing regions in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, Brazil, India, the United States, and other countries to cigarette manufacturers and blended tobacco buyers in over 90 markets. Pyxus operates threshing and processing facilities on multiple continents, managing the full supply chain from agronomy support and field purchasing through to packing and export documentation. Customers include multinational cigarette manufacturers (PMI, BAT, JTI, Imperial Brands), regional manufacturers, and independent blending houses. The company processes both flue-cured Virginia leaf and burley leaf, with forward contracting available for B2B buyers. Pyxus also operates an agricultural inputs and sustainability division providing certified seed, fertiliser, and crop finance to contracted tobacco farmers across Africa and South America.
