RAGT Semences is a French family-owned seed and agricultural group founded in 1919 and headquartered in Rodez, Aveyron. The company is one of Europe's leading independent seed producers, with core breeding activity in sunflower, corn, soft wheat, durum wheat, winter rapeseed and grain sorghum. RAGT operates more than 30 breeding stations across France, Spain, Romania, Hungary, Germany and Chile, conducting long-term variety development programmes in both conventional and hybrid crop systems. The company employs approximately 1,800 people. Subsidiaries or commercial operations are established in 14 countries including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, Morocco and Argentina. Distribution channels include national seed dealers, independent distributors, farmers' cooperatives and national marketing partnerships. RAGT is particularly well regarded in France and Spain for its sunflower and corn variety portfolio, which includes traits addressing drought tolerance, sclerotinia resistance and broomrape infestation common in southern European production systems.
