AECI is a JSE-listed South African chemicals and explosives conglomerate, manufacturing mining explosives, initiating systems, water treatment chemicals, specialty agricultural chemicals, and paints through subsidiaries BME (explosives), ChemSystems, Schirm, and Dulux. The group's BME division supplies bulk ANFO, emulsion explosives, and electronic detonation systems to open-pit and underground mines across sub-Saharan Africa. AECI has expanded globally through acquisitions in Europe and the Americas, making it one of Africa's most internationally diversified chemical manufacturers.
