Pop Vriend Seeds is a Dutch family-owned vegetable seed company founded in 1965 and headquartered in Andijk, North Holland, with a dedicated specialisation in bean, coriander and chicory seed varieties. The company maintains breeding programmes for green beans (snap beans, flat beans and French beans for fresh market and processing), fresh and dried coriander for the herb industry, and chicory for both root forcing and fresh leaf production. Breeding stations are located in the Netherlands and in warmer-climate nursery locations that allow year-round selection cycles. Pop Vriend Seeds operates in more than 60 countries and supplies professional seed distributors, vegetable plant nurseries, and fresh-market producer cooperatives, as well as processing industry customers who require uniform pod fill, colour consistency and mechanical harvestability. The company is particularly well known in the professional French bean market for varieties adapted to both open-field and protected cultivation. Research investment focuses on disease resistance (halo blight, bean common mosaic virus) and adaptation to contracted processing requirements.
