Founded in 1645 in Choshi, Chiba, Yamasa is one of Japan's oldest and most respected soy sauce brewers, employing close to 900 people. The company exports its premium shoyu globally through established wholesale distributor networks and operates a dedicated US subsidiary in Salem, Oregon. Its umami-rich sauces are a staple in high-end Japanese restaurants and specialty grocery chains worldwide.
