ArcelorMittal South Africa is the continent's largest steel producer, operating integrated flat-steel and long-steel works at Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging (Newcastle), and Saldanha Bay that produce hot-rolled coil, cold-rolled coil, galvanised sheet, wire rod, and structural sections for the automotive, mining, construction, and packaging industries. JSE-listed and a subsidiary of ArcelorMittal Group, the company processes iron ore from Sishen and coking coal from the Highveld to produce approximately 5 million tonnes of finished steel annually for the South African and sub-Saharan African markets.
