Assore is a JSE-listed South African mining group focused on manganese and chrome ore through its 50% stake in Associated Manganese Mines of South Africa (Assmang), which operates the Nchwaning and Gloria manganese mines in the Northern Cape as well as the Machadodorp chrome alloy smelters. Assmang produces manganese ore, iron ore, and high-carbon ferrochrome for international steel and stainless-steel manufacturers. Assore's black-ore and semi-carbonate manganese is among the world's highest-grade mineral exports.
