Botswana Meat Commission is a government-owned statutory corporation operating southern Africa's largest beef slaughterhouse and meat-processing complex at Lobatse, producing chilled and frozen beef cuts, canned corned beef, and offal products from Botswana's renowned disease-free Tswana cattle herd. BMC holds coveted EU and UK market access quotas, exporting premium Botswana beef to European supermarkets and the broader international market. The commission also operates a tannery producing wet-salted hides.
