ICM is Mozambique's largest tobacco-leaf processing company, buying, threshing, and conditioning burley and flue-cured tobacco grown by smallholder outgrower farmers in the Tete Province highlands and exporting processed leaf to cigarette manufacturers in Brazil, China, and Europe. A subsidiary of Alliance One International, ICM operates a leaf-processing plant in Tete City and manages farmer extension services for tens of thousands of contracted Mozambican tobacco growers. Tobacco is one of Mozambique's top three agricultural export earners.
