Kofola is a Czech carbonated soft drink brand originating in 1960 from the Czechoslovak Research Institute of Medicinal Plants, and one of the leading soft drink producers in Central and Eastern Europe. The company is headquartered in Krnov and operates across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, and Hungary. It was revived after 1989 as a private company and now competes directly with global cola brands in its core markets.
