Lokta Nepal manufactures and exports eco-friendly handmade paper products crafted from the bark of the Lokta plant (Daphne bholua), a fast-growing shrub native to Nepal's mid-Himalayan forests. Products include hand-stitched notebooks and journals, greeting cards, gift-wrapping paper, decorative boxes and bags. The production process is largely chemical-free and provides sustainable livelihoods for rural communities, particularly women. Products are biodegradable, insect-resistant and uniquely textured.
