MARAGRA is Mozambique's largest sugar producing estate and factory, located in Manhiça District south of Maputo, growing sugarcane on irrigated estate land and processing it into white refined sugar and raw sugar. An Illovo Sugar Africa subsidiary, MARAGRA supplies the Mozambican domestic market and exports surplus production to the EU under preferential trade arrangements. The estate also generates electricity from bagasse for its own operations and the national grid.
