The ultimate warning sign: If a supplier refuses cards or escrow and only pushes for non-reversible payment methods, walk away immediately. This is the number one sign of a scam. Either insist on escrow or drop the deal.
Double-check the names: The name on the bank account must perfectly match the officially registered company name. If it doesn't, stop right there.
First-time orders: Always use an independent escrow service for your first order. This ensures the supplier only gets paid after you have the goods in hand.
About
Mesa Engineering, trading as Mesa/Boogie, is an American manufacturer of guitar and bass amplifiers headquartered in Petaluma, California, USA. Founded in 1969 by Randall Smith, Mesa pioneered the high-gain amplifier format with the Mark I -- a hot-rodded Fender Princeton that launched the brand. Mesa/Boogie amplifiers are hand-wired and assembled in the United States, using custom-wound transformers and point-to-point wiring for the most critical signal-path components, resulting in a premium tier of amplifiers favored by professional rock, metal, jazz, and blues musicians. Product lines include the Mark series (Mark V, Mark VII), the Rectifier series (Dual, Triple, Mini), the Fillmore, California Tweed, and Subway bass amplifier lines. Mesa also manufactures speaker cabinets loaded with proprietary Celestion-wound speakers. The company distributes internationally through a selective dealer network covering over 50 countries, maintaining strict MAP pricing and minimising the total number of dealers per market to protect dealer margins. Gibson Brands acquired Mesa Engineering in 2021 and continues manufacturing in Petaluma.
