Notore Chemical Industries is Nigeria's sole urea fertiliser producer, operating a large ammonia-urea complex at Onne, Rivers State that was formerly known as the National Fertilizer Company of Nigeria (NAFCON). The plant synthesises ammonia from natural gas and converts it to granular urea, supplied to Nigerian and West African smallholder and commercial farmers. Notore is listed on the Nigerian Exchange and plays a strategic role in national food-security policy.
