Backsberg is a fourth-generation Paarl family wine estate producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Klein Babylonstoren Pinotage alongside estate-pressed extra-virgin olive oil from Paarl valley groves. The estate was the first carbon-neutral winery in South Africa. Wines and olive oil are exported to wine and specialty food importers in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, and Scandinavia.
