Rossing Uranium operates one of the world's largest open-pit uranium mines near Swakopmund in the Namib Desert, extracting and processing uranium oxide (yellowcake) from aluminosilicate ore for sale to nuclear-power generators worldwide. Majority-owned by China National Uranium Corporation, the mine has operated since 1976 and is among the longest-running uranium operations globally.
