Hacienda Selva Negra is a 1,400-ha biosphere farm and one of Nicaragua's oldest and most prestigious specialty coffee producers. At 1,200–1,600 m elevation in the cloud forest of Matagalpa, Selva Negra grows Bourbon, Caturra, and Typica arabicas shade-grown under banana and native tree canopy. Products include washed and honey-process green coffee and certified organic roasted coffee. Sold to specialty roasters in the US, Germany, and Japan. Cup scores: 85–88.
