About
Topigs Norsvin is one of the world's leading pig genetics companies, formed in 2014 through the merger of the Dutch cooperative Topigs and the Norwegian cooperative Norsvin. Headquarters are shared between Vught, Netherlands and Hamar, Norway. The company supplies pure-line grandparent and parent stock to nucleus and multiplier farms, which in turn supply commercial pig producers with F1 crossbred gilts and terminal sire boar semen. Key product lines include the Topigs Norsvin TN70 (one of the most widely sold commercial sow lines globally, known for large litter size and longevity), TOPIGS 20, TOPIGS 40, and Norsvin Duroc and Landrace terminal sires selected for intramuscular fat content, growth rate and meat quality. Semen from selected boars is exported frozen and fresh to multiplication centres in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Topigs Norsvin employs approximately 700 staff and operates research stations and test facilities in the Netherlands, Norway, the United States and Brazil. The cooperative ownership structure keeps genetic improvement and distribution tightly aligned with producing members.
