En 1935, cuando Sadakathulla Hajiar hizo su viaje inaugural de negocios a Estados Unidos en barco, salía de Ceilán (ahora Srilanka) como uno de los pioneros en abandonar el país para comercializar piedras preciosas finas. Sucedida por su hijo M.S.M.Kamil, la empresa inició su red para vender zafiros y otras piedras preciosas de primera calidad a la mayoría de los países europeos y al Lejano Oriente asiático. Muchas marcas líderes en el mundo obtienen piedras preciosas finas de Ceilán a través de KAMIL.
