Freixenet a été fondée en 1914 à Sant Sadurní d'Anoia et est devenue la marque de Cava la plus vendue au monde grâce à sa bouteille noire givrée distinctive et son étiquette Cordon Negro. Faisant désormais partie du groupe Henkell Freixenet, elle continue de produire du Cava dans sa cave de Catalogne et de gérer des vignobles à travers l'Espagne et les marchés internationaux.
