In 1935, when Sadakathulla Hajiar made his maiden business voyage to America by ship, he was stepping out of Ceylon(now Srilanka) as one of the pioneers to leave the country to market Fine Gemstones. Succeeded by his son M.S.M.Kamil, the company began their network to sell premium quality saphires and other gemstones to most European countries and Far East Asia. Many leading brands in the world source fine gemstones from Ceylon through KAMIL Today the company is run by Ruzwan Kamil, the third generation in the business and have expanded to new markets like China and Russia.
