In una stufa a pellet non si brucia legna, ma pellet: piccoli pellet di legno compresso. Rispetto alla legna da ardere, il pellet brucia in modo più efficiente e lascia meno residui. Una stufa a pellet emette meno CO₂ e particelle fini, rendendola più ecologica rispetto alle stufe a legna. Inoltre i pellet di legno sono certificati DIN plus e NF, il che significa che sono prodotti in modo sostenibile ed ecologico. Un altro vantaggio delle stufe a pellet è la loro praticità: non è necessario spostare i ceppi di legna insieme al pellet.
