F.Scott MacLeod è nato a Sydney, in Nuova Scozia. Dopo aver vissuto e lavorato in Ontario per molti anni, è tornato in Nuova Scozia nel 1999 e ora risiede a Lunenburg. La pittura con olio su tela ha dominato la sua vita professionale di artista. Autodidatta e influenzato da artisti del calibro di Matisse, Modigliani e Diebenkorn, la tecnica di MacLeod è spontanea e pittorica ma non eccessiva.
