Novus International is an animal nutrition company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1991 as a joint venture of Monsanto and the Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand, and now wholly owned by Charoen Pokphand Group. Novus produces and sells a diverse portfolio of speciality nutrition ingredients including MINTREX chelated trace minerals (zinc, copper, manganese bound to bis-hydroxy methionine for enhanced bioavailability), CIMICOOL betaine for osmoregulation and performance in heat-stressed livestock, ACTIVATE organic acid blends for gut health and pathogen control, and METHA-1000 liquid methionine. Products are incorporated by compound feed manufacturers, premix producers and large integrated poultry and swine companies into commercial diets for broilers, layers, turkeys, pigs, dairy cows, aquaculture species and companion animals. Novus operates manufacturing and blending facilities in the United States, Brazil, Belgium and Singapore, with a technical service network covering over 100 countries. The company invests in applied research at its global research centres in Missouri and Brazil.
