SESVanderHave is a Belgian sugar beet seed company headquartered in Tienen, Flemish Brabant, formed through the merger of SES (Societe Europeenne des Semences) and Van der Have, two pioneering beet seed breeders. SESVanderHave breeders work at stations in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Romania and Chile, conducting multi-year recurrent selection and hybrid seed production programmes. Core breeding targets include Beet Necrotic Yellow Vein Virus (Rhizomania) resistance, Cercospora leaf spot tolerance, cyst nematode resistance and high extractable sugar yield per hectare. Products are sold through national seed dealer networks, sugar company seed subsidiary programmes and direct accounts with cooperative sugar beet producer associations.
