De geschiedenis van Calzutirificio Soldini begint in 1945 in Capolona, een klein stadje in de provincie Arezzo, waar het hart van het bedrijf zich nog steeds bevindt. Gustavo Soldini nam samen met zijn broers Giuseppe en Ermenegildo na de dood van hun vader het schoenenlaboratorium over van het bedrijf genaamd "Fratelli Soldini", waarmee hij een puur ambachtelijk bedrijf begon in het maken van schoenen voor mannen en vrouwen, gericht op de lokale markt van Arezzo en Florence. In de jaren vijftig, met de ontwikkeling van het bedrijf, werd een eerste fabriek geopend in Capolona, aan de oevers van de rivier de Arno, en vervolgens een tweede in Anghiari, wat de overgang markeerde van ambachtelijke naar industriële productie en meer dan 800 werknemers in dienst had.
