Het bedrijf PROMAG AG werd in 1983 opgericht uit de handelsafdeling van het toenmalige bedrijf HASCO AG - dat ook zeer succesvol was als schoonmaakbedrijf, vooral in de ziekenhuisreiniging, en nu behoort tot de ISS Group. Met de medewerkers van de handelsdivisie van Hasco werd op 1 augustus 1983 begonnen met de bedrijfsvoering.
