Trong bếp dạng viên, bạn không đốt gỗ mà đốt viên: những viên gỗ nén nhỏ. So với củi, viên đốt hiệu quả hơn và để lại ít cặn hơn. Bếp viên thải ra ít CO₂ và các hạt mịn hơn, khiến nó thân thiện với môi trường hơn bếp củi. Ngoài ra, viên nén gỗ còn được chứng nhận DIN plus và NF, nghĩa là chúng được sản xuất theo phương pháp bền vững và sinh thái. Một ưu điểm khác của bếp viên là tính thực tế của chúng: bạn không cần phải di chuyển các khúc gỗ cùng với viên nén.
