Where the World Makes What
Across 15,354 manufacturer profiles in the Hell of a Partner directory that list at least one product category, food and industrial goods dominate global B2B supply, and Vietnam shows up as a top sourcing origin across more product categories than any other country.
The figures below describe the composition of our directory on 6 June 2026. They are a snapshot of which kinds of manufacturers list themselves with us and where they are based, not a measure of national manufacturing output. The methodology, and what these numbers can and cannot tell you, is set out at the end.
The Most Represented Product Categories
Sorted by number of manufacturer profiles, the directory skews heavily toward food production and industrial goods. The ten largest categories:
| Category | Manufacturer profiles |
|---|---|
| Food, specialty | 2,109 |
| Industrial machinery | 1,622 |
| Building materials | 1,299 |
| Food, pantry | 1,289 |
| Industrial supplies | 1,280 |
| Food and beverage | 1,113 |
| Health and medical | 1,016 |
| Auto parts | 916 |
| Industrial chemicals | 853 |
| Fashion and textiles | 833 |
Taken together, the various food categories (specialty, pantry, and beverage) are the largest block in the directory, ahead of the industrial cluster (machinery, supplies, chemicals, and electrical).
Which Country Leads Each Category
Pairing each profile's country with its categories shows clear geographic specialisation. Excluding origins under country-level sanctions programmes, the leading source country for several major categories is:
| Category | Top origin | Profiles |
|---|---|---|
| Industrial machinery | Germany | 103 |
| Industrial supplies | United States | 97 |
| Industrial packaging | Vietnam | 90 |
| Health and medical | India | 87 |
| Fashion and textiles | Pakistan | 71 |
Industrial machinery is the most internationally contested category: Germany leads at 103 profiles, but the United States (78) and China (76) follow closely, so a buyer sourcing machinery has three deep origins to compare rather than one.
Vietnam stands out for breadth. Rather than dominating a single category, Vietnam appears among the top origins across packaging, industrial supplies, food (specialty), technology and electronics, agriculture, pantry food, and electrical goods. No other country in the directory spreads across as many categories near the top, which fits its profile as a diversified, fast-growing manufacturing base.
The Certification Picture
Certifications are a first-pass filter for any sourcing team, so their prevalence is worth stating plainly. Of all manufacturer profiles in the directory, only 56% list any certification at all. Among the profiles that do, the most common certifications are:
| Certification | Profiles listing it |
|---|---|
| ISO 9001 (quality management) | 5,844 |
| HACCP (food safety) | 1,971 |
| ISO 14001 (environmental) | 1,660 |
| ISO 22000 (food safety management) | 1,562 |
| CE mark (EU conformity) | 903 |
| GMP (good manufacturing practice) | 537 |
ISO 9001 is the near-universal baseline: it appears on roughly one in three of all profiles and far outnumbers any other single certification. The strong showing of HACCP and ISO 22000 reflects the directory's food-heavy composition. The practical takeaway for buyers is that a stated certification should be treated as a starting signal to verify with the issuing body, not as proof on its own.
How to Read This Data (Methodology)
These figures count company profiles in the Hell of a Partner directory as of 6 June 2026. Categories and certifications are as stated in each profile. A few points matter for interpreting them correctly:
This describes our directory, not the world. The counts reflect which manufacturers are listed with us and how they describe themselves. They are not national production statistics and should not be read as a ranking of any country's total manufacturing capacity.
Self-stated fields. Categories and certifications are taken from profile data and have not been independently audited here. Certification figures in particular should be read as "profiles that list this certification", not as a count of verified certificates.
Origins under sanctions are excluded from the country-level rankings, in line with how the marketplace handles those jurisdictions.
