Set up your manufacturer profile
A complete profile is the difference between being found by serious distributors and being invisible. This guide covers each field — what it does, how to fill it, and why it matters.

1
Write your company description
Why: This is the first thing a distributor reads when they open your profile. A clear, specific description converts profile visitors into introduction requests.
How: Write 100–400 words covering: what you manufacture, your production capacity, key export markets, and what kind of distribution partner you're looking for. Be specific — 'we produce 2 million units/year of private-label olive oil for EU markets' is far more useful than 'we are a leading olive oil producer.'
Impact: Profiles with a detailed description receive 3–5× more introduction requests than profiles with an empty or generic description.
2
Add product categories
Why: Distributors filter the catalog by category. If you have no categories set, you won't appear in filtered searches — which is where most active buyers look.
How: Select all categories that apply to your product range. If you produce both food products and packaging equipment, select both. Categories are broad (Food & Beverages, Industrial Equipment, etc.) — pick everything that fits.
Impact: Category filters are used by the majority of distributors who search the marketplace. No categories = invisible to filtered searches.
3
Set your primary markets
Why: Distributors want to understand where you already have distribution — it tells them which regions you know how to export to and which regions are open.
How: Add the countries or regions where you currently sell. If you're already exporting to Germany and France, add those. If you're actively seeking a first distributor in a new market, you can still list it — just be clear in your description.
Impact: Market information helps distributors assess fit quickly. A US food importer scanning for European manufacturers uses this to filter relevance.
4
List your certifications
Why: Certifications are hard filters for many distributors. A Whole Foods buyer won't engage without organic certification. A pharma distributor needs GMP. Listing yours puts you in front of the buyers who specifically need them.
How: Add every certification you hold: ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, BRC, organic (EU, USDA, JAS), halal, kosher, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, CE marking, and any others. If a certificate is expired or in progress, skip it — only list active certifications.
Impact: Certification filters are among the most-used filters by professional buyers. Having even one relevant certification dramatically increases your appearance in serious buyer searches.
5
Create a distribution offer
Why: A distribution offer is a specific proposal to potential distributors — it tells them exactly what you're offering: margins, MOQ, exclusivity options, and target markets. It converts passive profile visibility into active outreach.
How: Go to your dashboard and create at least one offer. Describe what you're selling, the suggested retail or distributor price range, your minimum order quantity, and whether you're open to exclusivity. Each offer gets its own public page indexed by search engines.
Impact: Companies with at least one distribution offer appear in offer-specific searches and get featured more prominently in the catalog.
6
Submit for Verification
Why: The Verified badge signals to distributors that Hell of a Partner has confirmed your company's identity and trade credentials. It's the single most important trust signal on the platform.
How: From your manufacturer dashboard, click 'Submit for Verification.' Our team reviews your profile — website, description, certifications, and contact information — typically within 1–2 business days. Make sure your website is working and your description is complete before submitting.
Impact: Verified companies rank higher in catalog search results and are highlighted in distributor filters. Many buyers filter specifically for Verified companies.
