Alteo is a Mauritian agro-industrial group and listed company on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, operating sugar milling, power generation from bagasse, and energy cogeneration across four estates in the north and east of Mauritius as well as sugar operations in Kenya and Tanzania. Its mills produce refined white sugar and raw sugar from local Mauritian cane and export to the EU under preferential quotas. Alteo's energy division co-generates over 140 MW of electricity from sugarcane bagasse and coal, making it a key player in Mauritius's energy transition.
