Debswana Diamond Company is a 50-50 joint venture between the Botswana government and De Beers Group, operating the world's most productive diamond mines by value at Jwaneng (the world's richest diamond mine), Orapa, Letlhakane, and Damtshaa in the Kalahari. Debswana's mines contribute over 70% of Botswana's export revenues and roughly one-third of government income, making diamonds the economic backbone of the country. Rough diamonds are sold through De Beers' aggregation system and sorted at Gaborone's Diamond Hub.
