Illovo Sugar Malawi is the country's largest agri-business, operating the Nchalo Estate in the Shire Valley and the Dwangwa Estate on the shores of Lake Malawi, growing irrigated sugarcane and processing it into refined white sugar, raw sugar, and ethanol. An Illovo Sugar Africa (ABF) subsidiary and listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange, the company supplies Malawi's entire domestic sugar requirement and exports surplus under COMESA preferential arrangements. Illovo Malawi's combined capacity of around 300,000 tonnes per year makes it Malawi's largest manufactured export.
