Japan Tobacco International (JTI) is the international tobacco division of Japan Tobacco Inc., with its international headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and parent company in Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1999 after Japan Tobacco Inc. acquired RJR International, JTI operates manufacturing plants in over 30 countries and employs approximately 45,000 people worldwide. The company produces cigarette brands including Winston (the world's third-largest cigarette brand), Camel, Mevius, LD, Benson and Hedges, Silk Cut, and Sobranie, as well as fine-cut tobacco, cigars, and heated tobacco products. JTI also processes and trades tobacco leaf through its leaf operations, supplying raw material to manufacturers globally. Products are distributed through national importer agreements in over 130 countries, with B2B wholesale relationships managed at country level through authorised distributor networks. JTI is one of the four largest tobacco companies in the world by sales volume.
