Lesotho Flour Mills began operations in 1979 milling wheat, then added maize milling in 1986, sugar packaging in 1982, and an animal feed section in 1989. The Maseru-based mill is the dominant staple food processor in the country and was partially privatised in 1998 with Seaboard Corporation acquiring a stake.
